Virginia Warrington Jaeger

Virginia Warrington Jaeger of Blacksburg, VA passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, 15 days after her 97th birthday. A native of Berkley, VA, she was the daughter of William and Rebecca Askew Warrington. She graduated from Maury High School. She moved to Virginia Beach, Va. as a young adult and always considered it home. She will always be remembered for her love of dancing to “ Swing Music”, visiting with friends, being “Mom” and “Grandma” looking at photographs of family and friends, sewing, crocheting, and talking to anyone that would listen. She is survived by her children Eugene “Gene” Jaeger of Sunset Beach, NC, Robert “Bob” Jaeger of Blacksburg, Va, Patricia “Pat” Jaeger of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Karen Turnage (Steve) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Susan Birkenstock (Jim) of Raleigh, NC, and Karl Jaeger of Virginia Beach, Va; grandchildren Elizabeth Jaeger-Decker, Jennifer Jaeger, Robert Jaeger, Lauren Jaeger, Kelly Raimondi, Michael Pettitt, Brock Jaeger, Steven Turnage, Gentry Turnage, Jillian Hayward, Chad Birkenstock, Paul Birkenstock, Benjamin “Ben” Jaeger, Amy Brin, Gary Jaeger, Jonathan Jaeger, Hope Daniel, Charity Rowles, Karianne Sween, and Aaron Jaeger; 19 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Eugene “Gene” Jaeger, mother Rebecca Askew Warrington, father William Warrington, brothers William, Edward, and Woodrow Warrington, and son William “Billy” Jaeger. A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Virginia Beach, Va on May 17, 2024 at 2:00 in the afternoon. A reception will follow the service.
