Mrs. Harris was born in Key West, FL. She retired from the Virginia Employment Commission after thirty-five years of service.
Survivors include three children, Nicole Aviles and husband, Gabriel; two sons, Richard Armstrong and wife Tracy. All of Virginia Beach, VA; Wakyn W. Ferris of Midlothian, VA; four grandchildren, Gabriel Aviles, IV, Nicholas and Erik Aviles and Anneliese Shepherd.
Her heart was completely committed to her family and friends. She was caring and generous, with an inspirational love of life. Her humor and laughter lifted the spirits of those around her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered in our hearts and minds with fond and loving memories.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel.
