Tommy Ray Higgins, 61, passed away August 4, 2011 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He served in the Army during Vietnam War and then joined US Navy as a cook and later worked with Earl Industries. Tommy was a life member of VFW Post 392 and Military Order of the Cootie. He and his son loved Nascar and football specifically. His other hobbies included hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, gardening and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his mother Zollie (Billings) Higgins and father in law, John Reigle. He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Joan Marie Higgins; son John David Higgins II; canine children Codi and Biscuit; father, John Q. Higgins; brothers, Tony, Roger, Jonathan, and Christopher Higgins and Billy Littleton, sisters, Debbie Fourquet and Laura Morrison; mother in law Joyce Reigle; brother and sisters in law; John Reigle, Judi Ferguson, and Janice Hamilton and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and loving friends.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday August 13, 2011 in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home.
