Terri Lynn Martin

Terri was born to the late Thelma Houston and Wayne Martin in Brooklyn, NY on May 16, 1954.

She received her diploma from Far Rock High School in 1972 and after completing her schooling, she began working at the Department of Social Services and retired from there in 1995. After receiving a diagnosis of MS and having lived in NY her entire life, she decided to move to VA with her mother and daughter in 2004.

Terri lived life with an extraordinary depth of love and an unwavering compassion that radiated from her very being. As a devoted mother, she embraced the joy of family with an open heart, cherishing every moment spent with her loved ones. Wherever she ventured, she had an incredible gift for weaving new connections, effortlessly touching hearts and bringing people together like a warm embrace. Her spirit was a beacon of kindness, creating a tapestry of family that extended far beyond bloodlines, binding souls through the sheer power of her love.

She leaves behind to mourn her children Shawnay (Terrence), Vaughn, and Jessica. Her siblings Karen and David (Sherry). Her grandchildren Mandell (Danielle),Tanai, Tayvaughn, Brianna, Ahriyon, Kianna, Alanna, Nasir, Shareim, and Shakiya. Three great grandchildren, ten nieces and nephews, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service for Terri will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
