Rosemary Smith, 89, passed away on December 30, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 29, 1926 to the late Alice and James C. Shank in Roanoke, Virginia; and she was lovingly raised by the late Mary Margaret Shank. She is predeceased by her devoted husband Harold E. Smith, Sr.
She is survived by her son Harold Smith, Jr.; daughter Allene Cheatham; brother Robert Shank; sisters Dorothy Majewski and Peggy Fugelsang; four grandchildren Megan Cheatham, Matthew Cheatham, Leigh Smith and Allen Smith; two great grandchildren Anna Rose Wood and Desmond Cheatham; and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach VA. A private burial will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park. You may offer your condolences at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
