Ronald William Brown

Ronald was born on May 2, 1939 in Madison, Maine to William Munro Brown and Dora Anne Brown. He married Pauline Lessard on May 20, 1967 in West Bath, Maine.

Ron graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School in June 1958 and entered the United States Navy 4 days later. He honorably served for 22 years and retired in February 1980.

He was active in all military sports programs and later officiated several sports including softball, basketball, and volleyball. Additionally, he was a well-respected sports official in Hampton Roads City leagues for a number of years.

After fully retiring in May of 2000, Ron remained active in sports by becoming an avid golfer. He spent his leisure time traveling, golfing, and fishing.

Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pauline Brown; daughters, Doreen Venezia, Lisa Graves (Roger), and Debra Durren (Richard); son, Barry Christopher Brown; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach.
