Robert (Bob) E Strait, Jr., 70, went to be with our Lord on Monday, October 3, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Robert E Strait, Sr. and Ida Mae Strait. Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy with 23 years of service retiring as a Chief Machinist Mate. After retirement he started BMB Trucking, Inc.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Mary L Strait; sisters, Hazel Strait and Becky (Clyde) Helman; brother, David (Beverly) Strait; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday. October 16, 2011 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Landstown Community Church, 3220 Monet Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23453 or Sentara Hospice 535 Independence Parkway, Chesapeake VA 23320 in Bob's name.
