Ricardo Basa Garcia, Sr.

Ricardo Basa Garcia Sr., 91, passed away Jan. 10, 2019. He was born in Wawa Rosario, Cavite, Philippines on March 3, 1927 to the late Mariano and Julita Garcia. Mr. Garcia retired as a Senior Chief from the US Navy after 31 years. He then continued a successful career in real estate. He is preceded in death by his son, Ricardo Garcia Jr.; sister, Carolina Simpelo; and brother, Godfredo Garcia. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Elisa Garcia; daughter, Julie Garcia; grandchildren, Rica Marie Arevalo and Randy Garcia; daughter-in-law, Elaine Garcia; siblings, Amparo Lumaban, Manuel Garcia, Rizalino Garcia, Remedios Baclagan, and Jaime Garcia; and sister-in-law, Herminia Guevarra. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Thurs. Jan. 17, 2019 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Fri. Jan. 18, 2019 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
