Reynaldo "Boryot" San Miguel De Leon, a great and hardworking man, was known as much for his vivacious spirit as for his dedication to family and craft. He passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 84.
Born on October 31, 1940, in Panapaan, Bacoor, Cavite, Philippines, Reynaldo's life was one of adventure, love, and commitment. In his earlier years, he honed his skills by working on old typewriters for the Philippine Navy, demonstrating a keen aptitude for mechanics. Upon moving to the United States, he began his career as a Hospital Dietary Aide, a testament to his unwavering work ethic and desire to support his family.
Reynaldo was a man of many interests. He was known for his exceptional ability to make lumpia, his knack for handyman jobs, and his infectious presence that often made him the life of the party. Always moving and seeking the respect he so richly deserved, Reynaldo was most likely found dancing at any gathering. His frequent visits to his hometown in the Philippines reflected his deep-rooted connection to his origins and his enduring love for his cultural heritage.
Reynaldo is preceded in death by his parents, Isabela Gorospe De Leon and Julian Alhambra De Leon, and his sisters, Flordelisa De Leon and Cristina Mirabel.
A proud dad and devoted husband, Reynaldo is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria Sarino De Leon, and his sons, Ronald Alain Sarino De Leon (Jaquelyn) and Robin Sarino De Leon. He leaves behind cherished memories with his twin brother Manolito De Leon, brother Abelardo De Leon, and sisters Dalisay De Leon and Juanita Felizardo (Renato). His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Riley Jaye De Leon and Roxan Joie De Leon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
A public visitation for Reynaldo will be held Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A Funeral Service will occur Friday, March 21, 202,5 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
As a Master Mason of a Freemason lodge in the Philippines, Reynaldo embodied the principles of brotherhood, integrity, and charity. His laughter and joy in being with family will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered as a loving family man and vibrant soul who danced through life with grace.
