A visitation for Pete will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Smith & Williams Funeral Home/Kempsville, 4889 Princess Anne Rd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23453. Burial will follow at Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 N Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23454. Reception will be held at the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia, 4857 Baxter Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
Pete was born in Tandag, Surigao Del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines on February 28, 1930. He served in the Navy for over 23 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Europe during most of his active-duty career. He retired from the Navy as an E6. He worked as a Civil Service employee for the remainder of his career in Virginia. He was a very active member in the Tidewater Filipino Community. He was a member of the FIL-AM Veterans of Tidewater and a Board of Trustees member of the Philippine Cultural Center of Virginia. Pete loved gardening, dancing, and entertaining friends and family.
Pete is survived by his wife Avelina: His children, Steve, Linda, Susanne, Mike, Robert, Milly, and Tracy: His Grandchildren, Enrico, Rebecca, Jason, Manuel, Christopher, Matthias, Jasmin, Sabrina, Martina, Valerie, Rahel, Aron, Paxton, Olivia, Adele, Brylen, and Mireya: And his great-Grandchildren, Mylo, Aiana, Julien, Noemi, Mila, Raul, Dean, and Jenah.
