Born on April 4, 1944 to Gordon and Cecilia (Deyette) Pirie in Springfield, Massachusetts. Pat grew up in Chicopee, MA and went on to have two children, Bruce and Robin. She was a dedicated bus driver for Virginia Beach City Public Schools and proudly retired after forty-four amazing years of service to the community. She made many friends along the way in her career. After retirement she filled her time continuing the care for her mother, baking, and crocheting gifts for her family and friends. The simplest pleasures brought the greatest joy to Pat; watching summer flowers grow, tending to her many household plants, relaxing on a warm sunny day on her sun porch but nothing made her happier than being with her family. She enjoyed her time spent with her 99-year-old mother and having her family visit with her. Her eyes would light up and she would have the biggest smile when she was able to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Gordon Pirie and a sister Donna McCarthy. She is survived by her mother Cecilia Robedeau; a son Bruce D. Donnelly and his wife Rosie; a daughter Robin Phelps and her husband Scott; three granddaughters Susan Donnelly-Ledbetter and her husband David, Ashley Birdsong and her husband Steven, and Kimberly Brown and her fiancé Josh Evanyk; as well as two great-grandchildren Marceline Donnelly-Ledbetter and Hunter Birdsong.
