Otelia P. Palmos

Otelia P. Palmos, age 84, passed away on August 17, 2019 in the Philippines following an illness. Otelia was a long time resident of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. She was born on December 13, 1934 to the late Maria P. Parcon and Victorino C. Pacificador in Iloilo, Philippines. She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Manuel F. Palmos who died on May 21, 1998.

She is survived by her two daughters Maria Jesusa Battles and her children Nicholas, Anastasia, Steven, and Andrew; Emelda Palmos Sykes, her Husband, Peter Sykes, and their children Alina, Colin, and Patrick Sykes.

Otelia took great pride in being a Navy wife and mother. She worked for many years as an insurance agent. Otelia’s faith in the lord was very strong and was a long time parishioner of St. Pius X and St. Gregory the Great.

Funeral services were held in the Philippines and a local memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church on September 28, 2019 at 1:30 PM. A burial and reception will follow at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
