Mary Elizabeth Smith passed away peacefully on October 20, 2016.
Mrs. Smith was born in Gates County, NC and resided in Virginia Beach since 1957. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church and formerly ran the Salem Grocery Store for many years. She was preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Harp.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-seven years Lyle “Smitty” Smith; a son Stanley Smith, (Laura); two grandchildren Shannon Roberts, (John) and Stanley Smith, Jr.; two great grandchildren Thomas and Mary Roberts; two brothers Robert Wiggins, (Jean) and Jerry Wiggins, (Nancy); and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, October 23, 2:00 pm at Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Comfort Care Hospice.
