Mrs. Whitley was born in Landis, NC. She was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Johnny D. Whitley, a son, Johnny Whitley and wife, Patricia; a daughter, Patty Edney and husband, Jerry; four grandchildren, Brittany, Ashley, Blair and Robbie; two brothers, Ralph and Lester Thompson and a sister, Lucy Efrid.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 26, 2011, 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home where a celebration of Mrs. Whitley’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
The family would like to acknowledge the loving care provided by Pacifica Health Care and Odyssey Hospice.
