Casimiro and Pacita Victa. She was married to Pedro Perez for 30 years until his death in 1982.
She immigrated to the United States in 1984 and permanently settled in the Virginia Beach area.
She was a diligent employee who held various positions in multiple fields. However, her love of
cooking: the planning, preparation and sharing with family and friends was her passion. She
was passionate about life as evident by her strong will to live when she was undergoing
chemotherapy treatment and battling cancer. She was an avid TFC fan and enjoyed listening to
the songs of Josh Groban, Yani, Andrea Boccelli and other Filipino artists. Her flair of storytelling
and recounttng funny events always brought joy and laughter to those fortunate enough
to be in her presence.
Lina is survived by her children: Bernardino Perez and daughter-in-law Jazell; Barbara Obligacion
and her husband Danilo, Ferdinand Perez and daughter-in law Raquel; her beloved niece
Lourdes Glenn. She is also survived by her siblings: Candido Victa; and her three sisters:
Severina Victa, Lourdes Victa and Elena Victa Ramos and her husband Roman; 10 grandchildren
and 12 great grandchildren; and a large, loving and extended family across the US, Canada and
the Philippines.
A Mass and a “Celebration of Lina’s Life” will be held in the future at the Church of the
Ascension once social gatherings are mandated as safe and permissible for all.
