Kathleen R. Mullins

On Oct. 30, 2016, Kathleen R. Mullins, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kathleen was born on December 25, 1921 to the late Robert Lee Reed and Mollie Maddox Reed in Jackhorn, Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Virginia Reed Pitt and Betty Reed Womack; and her only granddaughter Traci Lynn Henderson. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Paul D. Mullins; two daughters Kay M. Redd and her husband C. Martin Redd, Jr.; and LuAnn Mullins Pruhs and her husband Roger Allen Pruhs; two grandsons Jarod Allen Pruhs of South Lake Tahoe, CA; and Brenton Andrew Pruhs of Knotts Island, N.C.; and one great granddaughter Chalmer Rose Pruhs of South Lake Tahoe, CA. Kathleen attended Fleming High Schools and Georgetown College in Kentucky. She graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education from Old Dominion University, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Kappa. Kathleen was the last Charter member of Indian River Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Director, Director of VBS, and organist. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462 with a visitation one hour prior.
