June Holmes Scarborough, 80, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2012. She was born on March 29, 1931 in Norfolk, VA the daughter of the late George M. and Louise W. Holmes. June was employed most of her adult life as a bookkeeper at Holmes Convalescent Center. She was a member of Thalia United Methodist Church. For June family was at the top of her priority list, she always put her family first. Among her favorite pastimes were the numerous trips she took with her twin sister Jean and brother-in-law Robbie. But she especially enjoyed shopping with Jean. June was preceded in death by her son Russell Corvello.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter, Donna Corvello; grandchildren, Ryan Corvello, Justin Cottrell, Lindsey and Logan Corvello; sister, Jean Holmes Robinson and husband Albert (Robbie); nieces, Christine Robinson, Ora Lee, Georgia Shaw and husband Richard and June Robinson Horn and four great nieces Heather West, Jessica Falk, Nicole Shaw and Kalyn Horn that loved her dearly.
At June’s request all services were private. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Southeastern Alzheimer's Association, 6350 Center Drive, Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
