Jose Tejada Alcantara

Born February 1, 1932 in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines. He was the son of the late Mariano Alcantara and Consuelo Tejada. He graduated from Mapua Institute of Technology, Civil Engineer. He came to the United States in 1973. Jose retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard with over 25 years of service as a Safety and Planning Engineer in 2006. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and participated in numerous Filipino clubs and organizations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Joselito Alzate Alcantara and Jennifer Alcantara Bertagnolli and her husband, Chris Ray Bertagnolli both of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren, Brittney, Joshua, Julian, Jordan and Joelle Alcantara; Madeline and Juan Carlos Bertagnolli.

Visitation will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA on Friday April 3, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted by Father Timothy Kuhneman at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach, VA on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
