John T. “Tommy” Hare, age 69, of the 700 block of Churchill Drive, Virginia Beach, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. He was the son of the late Herman H. Hare and Grace Eldridge Hare. He was formerly an automotive technician and retired several years ago.
Tommy was predeceased by his wife of forty years, Barbara Hare, and his sisters, Rosa Hare Smith and Alda Hare Williams. He is survived by three sons: Kenneth, Donald (Annette) and George Hare; three granddaughters: Liz Hare Andrade, Casey Hare and Addison Hare; and one great grandson, Emmitt Andrade. He is also survived by four brothers: Bill Hare, Charlie Hare, Eddie Hare and Dennis Hare. Tommy and Barbara provided their family and friends with many treasured memories and will be greatly missed.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29 at the Smith and Williams Funeral Home (Kempsville). Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30 at 11:00 a.m., also at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
