Jerry Kenneth Salyers

Jerry Kenneth Salyers passed away November 11, 2013 at the age of 71. He was born in Bath County, VA August 12, 1942. He was the son of the late John and Helen Salyers. Jerry was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Armentrout and brothers Charles and James Salyers.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of thirty-five years Lorraine Salyers. He is also survived by his sister-in-laws Ramona Czerwinski and husband Joe, Evonne Allen, Joyce Salyers and Judy Salyers and many other family members and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Greg Spainhour and his mother Judy for being there with Lorraine when Jerry passed.

Jerry retired as Assistant Chief after thirty-seven years with the Norfolk Fire Department. He was a very loving, caring and giving person who was always there when needed. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6 to 8p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home and at all other times at the home of Evonne Allen at 135 Glendale Avenue, Norfolk, VA.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, 11:00a.m at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
