Janice (Dee Dee) Marlene Meyer, 72, passed away on November 3, 2020. She was born November 27, 1947 in Pittsburg, PA to the late Edward and Erika Simmons. It was there she met her lifelong mate and together they embarked on a 21 year Navy career. She was a long-time member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. In addition to being a wonderful mother and homemaker, Janice worked as a teacher assistant for the Virginia Beach City Public Schools. In her spare time, Janice loved to go shopping, dining out and bragging about her grandchildren. Dee Dee cherished time with friends and family and relished cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. She liked to collect tea pots, owls and Steelers memorabilia.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Robert Meyer, Sr.; son Rob Meyer, Jr and his wife Robin; and 4 grandchildren, Austin, Preston, Brayden, and Landry.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1051 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, VA 23502-2720.
