

Jack (Holly) Hollingsworth, Retired Senior Chief USN and Realtor Emeritus with over 46 years in Real Estate passed away and went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2015. He was born on October 29, 1935, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Ollie and Thelma Hollingsworth and was preceded in death by his first wife Betty. Jack remarried in July 2004 and is survived by his wife, Alma Cowan Hollingsworth, retired LPN.
Jack joined the Navy in April 1954. He served aboard The USS Mindoro, USS Leyeth, HS-3NTC Great Lakes, VP-56 and Beach Master 2 before retiring from EPDOLANT in February 1974. He always kept in touch with many of his shipmates. He was a loyal member of the Fleet Reserve Association with over 50 years of service. He managed and coached Aragona-Pembroke Little League. He was past Presidents of the Pembroke Elementary PTO, and the Haygood UMM. In addition he volunteered in many other activities over the years, but his greatest accomplishment was being Dad to his sons.
He is survived by his 3 sons and their families: Jeffrey (Cyndy), Justin (Sue), Jerry (Joann); 3 granddaughters Jessica, Jacqueline (Zach), Cyndel, and great grandson Eli. Jack was blessed to have extended family of Becky and Tony Hogg (Sam, Katherine), David and Kim Cowan, (Hailey/Hunter), Amy and John Hampton (Caroline/Natalie), Walter and Mary Rogar. He also leaves behind his adopted sister Alice Given.
A funeral will be held at Haygood United Methodist Church, 4713 Haygood Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455 on Tuesday February 24, 2015 at 11am with a visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
