J. Terry Kelly, Jr.

John Terry Kelly, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2013 at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital after a brief illness. Terry was born in Norfolk on January 8, 1930, graduated from Holy Trinity High School and Elon University. Terry was the son of the late John T. Kelly, Sr. and Marguerite B. Kelly of Virginia Beach. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife Jane G. Kelly and son D. Matthew Kelly.

Left to cherish his memory are sons J. Terry Kelly III, wife Brenda, of Hertford NC, Michael J. Kelly, Sr., wife Delaine, of Virginia Beach, and sister Susanne D. Kelly of Kill Devil Hills NC. He is also survived by grandchildren Patrick, wife Heather, Sean, wife Christina, and Michael Jr. Terry also cherished his six great-grandchildren Blake, Madison, Kyle, Aiden, Shea, and Preston.

Terry was a Certified Public Accountant and founded Kellys’ Tax Service in Virginia Beach. He was an avid golfer, a skilled airplane model builder, a Knight of Columbus and taught accounting classes in past years. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 11 AM at Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, with a reception to follow at the Church.
