Henry Thomas Rogers Jr.

Henry Thomas “Tom” Rogers was born in Birmingham, Alabama and he passed away on 25 February 2024 after a short illness at the age of 92. Tom is survived by his 5 children; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and extended family members. His wife, Billie; his brother, Lee Rogers and his parents, Henry and Thelma Rogers, predecease Tom. Tom received a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University (now Samford University) in Birmingham, Alabama in Physical Education. He taught at Granby High School in Norfolk, Virginia for over 20 years. He also served as an assistant Wrestling Coach and Junior Varsity and Varsity Football Coach for many years at Granby High School. Tom attended Central Baptist Church in Norfolk and worked on numerous charities as a member there. A graveside service for Henry will be held Monday, March 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
