Helen Elizabeth Chamberlain, 78, of Virginia Beach, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Born August 6, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Vida Hemstock Busch of Wichita, Kansas.
A retired Registered Nurse and Instructor for Tidewater Tech in Norfolk, VA, Mrs. Chamberlain’s nursing career spanned 55 years in Independence, Mo; Wichita, KS; Charlotte Hall, MD and Norfolk, VA. She was proud to have served Life’s cycle from an OB nurse to a geriatric nurse in home health care. She finished her career passing her vast knowledge through teaching. She was honored to help craft and mold many future care-givers.
She was an active member and minister of the Community of Christ Church in Portsmouth, VA; Wichita, KS and Independence, MO.; an avid Wii bowler @Princess Anne Commons, VB; and beaded jewelry designer in her spare time.
As a neighbor and friend if there was a need to comfort a crying child; assist another in need; or offer a kind word of encouragement to a stranger… she was there. It was very important that she make a difference in someone’s life daily… and she did! She was proud and honored to serve those around her.
Mrs. Chamberlain is survived by her son, Anthony Dann (Gwen) Chamberlain, Texas; and daughter, Deeanne E. Brown (David) of Virginia Beach, VA. She leaves 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grand sons. She has left us a wonderful legacy and large shoes to fill! Her presence will surely be missed!
“CELEBRATE MY LIFE, NOT MY DEATH”, and so in honor of her request there will be a Memorial Potluck* “Party” and memorial service Sunday, April 14, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Beth Messiah Synagogue 7130 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505
