Virginia Beach – Harold A. Ripley, Jr., 79, went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2010. He was born on April 28, 1930 in Hartford, CT to the late Harold and Mildred Ripley, Sr. He served his country in the US Navy during Vietnam and retired after 20 years. Harold then became a landscape supervisor and worked for the City of Virginia Beach. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. Harold was predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Hazel V. Ripley.
Left to cherish his memory are 2 children, John Ripley of Virginia Beach, and Jill Combs and her husband Shelby of Capeville; brother Ronald Ripley and his wife Liz of TN; and 2 grandchildren, Kendall and Tyler Combs.
A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, March 1st from 6-8:00 PM at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.
