Gladys Curles White, 88, passed away on September 30, 2018. She was born in Duck, NC to the late Jackson and Fannie Curles and resided in Virginia Beach. She worked at Forbes Candy in her younger years and retired from Barr’s Pharmacy after 35 years. She loved to cook, bake, flower arranging and many crafts. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 20 years, Ossie White; brothers, Alonzo Curles, Aldridge Curles, Jack Curles, and G.C. Curles; sisters, Dora Hines and Josephine McDonald.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Rodney L White, Sr. (JoAnne) of Virginia Beach, and Michael W White (Denise) of Knotts Island, NC; brother Major Curles of Wanchese, NC; 3 grandsons, Rodney White, Jr (Tina), Christopher White (Emily), and Russ White; granddaughter Shelley Etheridge (Mike); and 3 great grandsons Eyan, Max, and Cedar.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 PM on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 5, 2018, in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
