Elsie Mae Jordan

Norfolk - Elsie Mae Jordan, 94, passed away peacefully at her home on Feb. 8, 2018. She was born on Aug. 15, 1923 in Rocky Mt., VA to the late Alphonso and Alice Hodges. Elsie was a 50 year charter member of Azalea Baptist Church.

Elsie was a wonderful mother, nana, and great-nana. She was a loving, caring, and exceptionally strong woman, who was loved by everyone. Elsie was the matriarch of our family and the glue that held us together. She always led by example, loved you unconditionally, and would do anything for you. Life will never be the same without her and we will miss her the rest of our lives, until we met again. Heaven gained a new angel and we take comfort knowing she is dancing with our dad again and believe they will always be watching over us all.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Cecil "Lucky" Jordan.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Judy Musselwhite and Sheila Sigafoos and her husband Joseph; grandchildren, Michael Musselwhite, Brian Musselwhite (Tally), Jennifer Salley (Michael), Joseph Sigafoos Jr. (Holly), Wesley Sigafoos (Emilie), and Kristopher Sigafoos (Kim); ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tues. Feb. 13, 2018 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wed. Feb. 14, 2018 at the funeral home officiated by Dr. Hugh Litchfield and Rev. Brian Barnes. Entombment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
