Mr. Hettrick served in the U.S. Navy in WWII as a bombardier aboard a PBY Catalina amphibious aircraft. He fought battles of Midway, Coral Sea, and Guadalcanal. He later became an Electronic Mechanic, worked at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, and retired from civil service. Mr. Hettrick also worked as a Branch Manager for Electrolux.
Pre-deceasing Mr. Hettrick is his loving wife of 36 years, Mollie W. Hettrick, as well as his son, Charles Thomas Hettrick, and his daughter, Pamela Celeste Rodehaver.
Surviving Mr. Hettrick is his daughter, Ellyce Kleeger, her husband, Benjamin Kleeger, his son, Keith Hettrick, as well as seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Although known for his passion for painting, drawing, designing, building, music, and poetry, Mr. Hettrick should be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
