Ellen Gaskey

Surviving is her husband Oliver W. Gaskey of Virginia Beach VA, daughter Michelle May of Wilmington NC, son Michael Mooney of Cape Coral FL, daughter Beth Hess of Quinton VA, brother Richard Heckmann and sister-in-law Debbie Heckmann of Leesburg FL, stepson Kevin S. and Carol Ann Gaskey of Plano TX, and stepdaughter Pamela Taylor of Virginia Beach, VA.

Ellen was blessed with grandchildren Laura Hess, Jonathan Hess, and Noelle and Micah DeMuth, and eight great-grandchildren.

Ellen spent many years of her working life as a Hair Stylist and made many friends along the way.

She loved to write poetry and many of her poems were published by Eber & Wein Publishing.

In addition, Ellen loved ballroom dancing, and studied this art by dancing for 8 years, appearing at Chrysler Hall Norfolk on several occasions as part of a dance group.

Always wanting to learn something new, Ellen studied American Sign Language, and communicated with those individuals who suffered from hearing disorders.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 26th at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach VA, with visitation at noon, services at 1:00 pm and reception immediately following.

Donations can be made in Ellen’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
