Earnest served in both the Coast Guard and Army. He retired from the Army as Sergeant First Class. He served 38 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Mary Forbes and his sons.
A visitation for Earnest was held Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 5345 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. A mass of christian burial followed at 11:00 AM. Burial was at Rosewood Memorial Park.
