Debra McCormick Hicks

Debra McCormick Hicks, 61, passed away on December 18, 2019. She was born in Florida to the late James Luther and Lela Zerne McCormick. Debra was a wonderful, loving, caring, wife, mother and friend.

If you ever needed advice, food or a roof over your head, and it was within her ability, she would do her best to help. Her love of animals was also great; she cared for many in her time, working with her friend Marion who owned a pet store. Her caring, loving spirit helped many of us in our time of need. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 37 years, Paul Thomas Hicks; daughter, Heather Dawn Hicks; son, Christopher Paul Hicks; step-son, Michael Hicks; 2 sisters, Melissa McCormick Dishner and her husband Lee, and Cynthia McCormick Messemore and her husband Billy; brother, Randy McCormick; Aunt and Uncle Oma and Harry Bailey; 3 nephews, Isaiah Dishner, James Dishner, and Micah Dishner; and Ben “James” Howard who was like a son.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, January 12, 2020, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
