CDR. Dean T. Rodgers, USN Ret.

CDR. Dean T. Rodgers, USN Ret. passed away in his sleep on the morning of November 10, 2023. He was born on October 4, 1931 in Milroy, PA, the only child, to the late Mary Elizabeth and John Phillip Rodgers. He spent 28 ½ years in the Navy as a Naval Aviator. He got his Aviator wings in January 1955. Now he has his Angel wings; he loved flying. He met his wife on a blind date in Pensacola, FL on February 4, 1954 then married on December 17, 1955.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Viola “Vickey” Coburn Rodgers; two sons, Glenn Daniel Rodgers (Kathy) of Virginia Beach, and Rodney Dean Rodgers of Stafford, VA; one daughter, Janice Marie Rodgers Copeland (Jimmy) of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, LCDR Joshua Dean Lawrence (Connor) of Jacksonville, FL, Justin Daniel Lawrence (Calah Savage) of Virginia Beach, and Julee Rodgers of Stafford, VA; and two great grandchildren, Abigail Madison and Oliva Jane Lawrence of Jacksonville, FL.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 2-4:00 PM, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Monday, November 20, 2023, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.
