It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Steinruck, Sr., who has left us far too soon. David Duane Steinruck Sr., age 52, of Norfolk, Virginia tragically passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 from a motorcycle accident. He was a devoted father, a cherished grandfather, a loving son, brother and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dave was a truck driver, most recently with the United States Postal Service. As a father, he always showed support and guidance. His role as grandfather brought him immense joy, and the bond he shared with his granddaughter was one filled with laughter and love. To his mother, he was a loving and caring son. His humor and warmth touched everyone around him. Whether you knew him for years or if you just had met him, Dave was truly himself, a humorist and full of life. Though his time was cut short, Dave’s legacy lives on in the lives he impacted and in the love he leaves behind. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the deep and lasting imprint and impact he made on the hearts of those who loved him.
David was preceded in death by his brother Dwight Steinruck, Jr. David is survived by his son David Steinruck, Jr.; his mother Nancy Speicher; his sister Donna Steinruck; and his granddaughter Cori.
A Service to Celebrate Dave’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 Gateway Church, 5473 Virginia Beach Blvd. in Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. David will be laid to rest in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.
