In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

I miss you everyday granny. My heart is empty,loved you so much. I heard you the other morning... no doubt in my mind,letting me know you are still her with me in spirit.

I have many memories of playing, staying the night, and eating at  
Mrs. Tankersley's house as a young kid. She always had a full house. I learned how to make a scramble egg sandwiches using a cast iron frying pan at a young age...and learned the secrets of 'clean' feet.(smile) Some of my best childhood days were in her house. She treated me like one of her kids...I got the smiles and the corrections just like the rest. She has some wonderful daughters and sons and my thoughts are with them of their loss. God bless her, she was a super woman. I will never forget her or her family.
