Cheryl served as a Social Worker with the Chesapeake Community Services Board for many years and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Cheryl dedicated her life to supporting her family, friends, and community with unwavering commitment. She was celebrated for her warmth, intelligence, kindness, and wit. These qualities were evident in her profound love for animals. Cheryl's lifelong care for countless pets and support for animal welfare reflected her deeply compassionate nature. She also found joy in tending her garden, expressing herself through her artwork, diving into the pages of her favorite books, and sharing her delicious cooking with loved ones. Her creativity and love for the simple pleasures in life left a lasting impression on those around her.
She is survived by her two sons, Cory Daniel Gerwe and Scott William Gerwe; her brother, Sheldon Osborne; and her beloved grandchildren, Sage and Silas Gerwe.
