Charlie was born in LaMesa, California on January 2, 1953. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corp.
Survivors include his children Joshua Burd (Dana), Iydl Burd Nicholson, Cail Burd (Lora), Charles S. Burd (Kristin); mother Blanche C. Tatem; siblings, Margie Burd Perkins (Rob), Cail D. Burd (Penny), Janet Tatem Respass (Johnny), Teresa Tatem, Diane Tatem Zewalk (Michael), Bonnie Tatem Bagwell (Rex), Cathy Tatem, Rusty Tatem (Shanna). He is also survived by six grandchildren, many family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
Services will be private for family and friends at Albert G. Horton, Jr., Veteran Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Tatem home in Pungo on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
