Catherine Lankford

Catherine A. Lankford, 91, passed away on December 17, 2018. She was born in Edenton, NC to the late Samuel and Ella Alexander. She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church and was a member of the Pioneers with C&P Telephone Company where she worked for 32 years. Catherine led a simple life but was loved by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Alva Lankford; daughter Patricia Morrison; brother Marvin Alexander; sisters, Mildred Williams, Margaret Luke and Elma Tyler.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Deborah West and her husband David of Norfolk, VA; son-in-law Robert Morrison of Cummings, GA; sisters Dorine Straub of Salem, VA and Juanita Campbell and her husband Donald of Medford, NJ; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Davis of NC, Christine Schram of GA, and Ronald West of Norfolk, VA; 2 great grandchildren, Alex and Eric Marchi; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a visitation prior to the service starting at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Sholom Village or Freda H. Gordon Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater.
