Chesapeake - Brenda Joyce Strickland, 70, passed away July 15, 2017. She was born on Jan. 6, 1947 in Norfolk, VA to the late Milton Bogue and Maebelle White. Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Norview High School. She worked as the office manager of Belfor retiring after 24 years. Family was everything to Brenda. She most enjoyed her time spent with them.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Bogue. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kristen Roberts and husband Mike; granddaughter, Kameron Roberts; best friend, Brenda Perry; brother, Freddy Bogue and wife Bonnie; sister, Debbie Elgin and husband David; nieces, Megan von Gersdorff and husband Nick and Ashley Dozier and husband Mike; nephew, Ryan Elgin; great-nephews, Nicholas von Gersdorff and Carter Dozier.
A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thurs., July 20, 2017 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. You may offer condolences to the family at www.smithandwilliamskempsville.com.
