Bonita June Smith, 71, passed away on March 22, 2024. She was born in Mannsfield, OH to the late James Frederick and Carrie Evelyn Smith. Bonnie graduated from Princess Anne High School in 1971. She worked until she was 57 at several places including the Library, Navy Exchange and Taco Bell through the Virginia Beach Community Service. Bonnie was very independent, and enjoyed cooking and taking care of her home. Listening to music was one of her favorite past-times, especially music by the Beatles; they were her favorite and she recently went to see the Beatles exhibit at the Chrysler Museum, which made her very happy. She also collected horses and loved her poodles, especially Pixie. Bonnie was a happy-go-lucky person. But, her greatest love was for her family; they meant the world to her.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Joy Barnard (Buddy) of Chesapeake, VA; brother Mel Smith (Linda) of Farmville, VA; 3 nieces; 2 nephews; 12 great nieces and nephews; 7 great great nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly. She was greatly loved by all who knew her and she will be sorely missed.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, on Friday, April 12, 2024, in Rosewood Memorial Park.
