Bobby was born in Forest City, NC on March 28, 1937. He was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, Linda Jones of 50 years. He was also preceded in death by his father, Louis A Fincannon; mother, Polly Fincannon; and brother, Donald A. Fincannon.
Left to cherish his memory are his three daughters, Karen Equils (Kenny), Leigh Noah (Gary), and Stacey Sipple; sister, Linda F. Yaw (Bill); sister-in-law, Fran Fincannon; five grandchildren, Kirstie Fals (Joseph), Casey Johnson (Chad), Lauren Warren (Stephen), Kelsey Equils and Kelli Sipple; four great-grandchildren, Cody and Camryn Johnson and Andrew and Catherine Fals; nieces, Denise Coats and Heather Summers; nephews, Michael Fincannon and David Yaw; and many great nieces and nephews.
Bobby Jones served our country proudly in the US Air Force retiring after 24 years of dedicated and honorable service as SMSgt. His service included duty stations throughout the United States and abroad. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the Air Force, Bobby continued his career at Plasser American Corporation, retiring after 20 years.
A man of kindness, compassion, integrity and tremendous devotion to his family, he was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park with full military honors.
