Betty Lee Posey

Betty Lee Posey, 82, of Virginia Beach, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2016. She was born February 17, 1934 in Pembroke, Virginia, the daughter of the late Ruben J. Meredith and Clotine Mullins Meredith. Betty was raised in Narrows, Virginia. She is predeceased by her brothers, Jimmy Wayne Meredith and Robert “Bob” Meredith; half-brother’s, Dalton & Melvin; and half-sister, Thelma.

Betty was a former member of Daughters of the Nile as Past Queen, Scottish Rite Ladies as Past President, and the Social Order of the Beauceant as Past President. She was also a former member and Past Matron of Westminster Chapter No. 99, and current member of Kempsville Chapter No. 173, Order of the Eastern Star.

Betty is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joseph A. Posey; brother, John Meredith; and sister, Trudy Cooper (Stephen), both of Narrows, VA.

A celebration of Betty’s life and Eastern Star Service will be held 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel with Dick Baker, officiating. A reception will follow the service in the funeral home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
