She is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Charles R. Maples, Son, Duane Blair Maples, brother, Ron Alexander, and sister, Eleanor Howland.
Mrs. Maples was a long-term resident of Virginia Beach, having also lived in Richmond and Basking Ridge, New Jersey for several years.
As an early member of the Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, she joined the congregation with her family prior to the construction of the church when services were held in the Princess Anne High School auditorium. She was active in her church up until the past couple of years when failing health prevented her from attending. Her greatest joy in life outside of her family was being in the fellowship of friends in the service of the Lord.
Mrs. Maples is survived by her son, A. Craig Maples of Chesapeake, sister, Carole Alexander of Chesapeake, sister, Laura Fay Coulter of Lynchburg, brother, Mark Alexander, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, and two grandchildren, Justin Larkin of Pennsylvania and Monica Ann Maples of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park located at 631 North Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach at 2:00pm, Friday, August 5, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you consider making a gift to the Thalia Lynn Baptist Church in honor of Mrs. Maples.
