Ann Oberst Kendall

Ann Oberst Kendall, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in Virginia Beach. Ann was predeceased by her parents, Lester and Margaret Cleary Oberst. A native of Newark, NJ she spent most of her life in Virginia Beach supporting her family and being a navy wife enjoying her time with her children. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Robert P. Kendall; a son, Robert Kendall of Winston Salem, NC; a daughter, Patricia Castello and husband Dennis of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, Rebecca Crum-Mosher, Jeffrey Castello, Jennifer Castello, Rob Kendall and Denise Castello-Ballard; twelve great-grandchildren, Ericka, Monica, Andrew, Annicka, Vivica, Noah, Amiah, Jayden, Mason, Brittany, Jimmy and Caiden and one great-great grandchild, Nylah. Ann will be greatly missed by her friends and family. We will remember her forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday. August 26, 2013 at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday August 27, 2013 at the funeral home, the burial will follow in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Suffolk.
