Obituary of Andrea Ferchak Edwards
Andrea Ferchak Edwards of Chesapeake, Virginia passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 71 after a long tough battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 30, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her last moments were spent peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and close friends. She was very loved and will be terribly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mary Ferchak; and her siblings Janet Kracun, Tim Ferchak, Anita Cox and Beverly Ferchak. Left to cherish her memory is her husband and love of her life for 52 years, Earl W. Edwards III, two beautiful daughters, Dana Edwards Brown (Bob) and Christie Edwards, two awesome grandsons Connor Brown and Colin Brown and many extended family members. The interment will be a private ceremony with only immediate family members present; a reception will follow at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home & Memorial Park on 601 North Witchduck Rd in Virginia Beach, VA on May 25, 2024, at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her honor to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer at foundationforwomenscancer.org. She left us the following handwritten copy of the poem, “Let Me Go” by Christina Georgina Rossetti: When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not for long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared Miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone. It's all part of the master plan A step on the road to home. When you are lonely and sick at heart Go the friends we know. Laugh at all the things we used to do Miss me, but let me go
