Alice was born on April 16, 1920, a daughter of the late Curtis and Winifred Eaton. She graduated from Kempsville High School in 1937 and worked as a beautician for ten years. She married the late Parker M. Baine, Sr. in April, 1944. Alice was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Kempsville and was active in the social life of the church. Alice was a very kind and gentle soul. She had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others.
She is survived by her devoted son, Parker M. Baine, Jr. and his wife Betsy; grandson, Parker M. Baine, III and his wife Emily. She is also survived by her sister, Katherine Eaton Dashiell; and her sister’s children, Susan Dashiell Brown, Robert Gatewood Dashiell, III, Curtis James Dashiell, William Eaton Dashiell, Michael M. Dashiell, and their families; children; and grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 PM at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 5181 Singleton Way, Va. Beach, VA 23462. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, 631 North Witchduck Road, Va. The family would like to extend special thanks to Seniorcorp Home Care for their many hours of dedicated service to Alice. A very special “thank you” to the Sentara Leigh Hospital doctors, nurses and staff who went far beyond the call of duty to make Alice’s last days as comfortable as possible. As a 25 year volunteer at Sentara Leigh, she was happy that her final days were spent at her beloved hospital.
