Norfolk - Addie Tyson Carter, 88, passed away on Feb. 10, 2014. She was born in Stokes, NC on Jan. 29, 1926. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and “Mema.” Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Edgar M. Carter, two brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Marshall Carter and wife Judy, Thomas Carter and wife Bobbi, Mark Carter and wife Janet; daughters, Patricia Taft and husband Tommy, and Yvonne Hertling and husband John; one brother; four sisters; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Sat. Feb. 15, 2014 at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home with a service being at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. You may offer condolences to the family at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
