Viola Pearl Lange Akers

She was a native of Goliad, Texas and had been a resident of Vinton for over 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting and was a wonderful cook. Viola was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Orange.

Survivors include fourteen nephews and two nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hines Akers; eight brothers; and three sisters.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Paul Zoch will officiate. Pallbearers will be Larry Lange, Steven Lange, Tommy Bahnsen, Mitzi Yerby, and Buddy Stelter. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bridge City, Texas. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1819 N. 16th Street, Orange, TX 77630.
