She was born in Hackberry, Louisiana on December 13, 1942 to Dick and Gladys Welch. She lived most of her life in the Edgerly-Vinton area. Annette lived life to the fullest. She was a very loving caring person. She always greeted you with a smile and a huge hug. She retired from Beaumont Bone and Joint as a medical transcriptionist. Her passion was gardening and crafts but also liked to fish. She loved traveling, family time, and especially cherished spending time with her grandsons, Braxton and Bryce. She was a member of Deweyville First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Richard Huval; son, Brian Huval; daughter, Ashley Huval; grandsons, Braxton and Bryce LeDoux, all of Vinton; brothers, Reuben Welch of Los Angeles, California, Ralph Welch and wife, Jennie of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and sister, Rebecca Rothbauer and husband, Joe of Houston, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23 in Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton. The Rev. Damon Bickham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the chapel. Annette donated her body to LSU School of Medicine for cancer research. She was very active in cancer support groups. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. The family would like to give special thanks to Dianne and Julie and all of the staff of Amedisys Hospice for their help getting through this difficult time.
