She made her career as a librarian for the Calcasieu Parish Library in Vinton and served as President of the Literary Club. Kay was a faithful member of the Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church since 1971.
Kay is survived by her husband, Keith Havens; four sons, Gregory K. Havens and wife Ruth of Spring, Texas, Gary K. Havens and wife Libby of Vinton, Douglas O. Havens and wife Lisa of Bridge City Texas, Phillip B. Havens and wife JoRene of Shady Shores, Texas; one daughter, Diana K. Kuziv and husband Sean of The Woodlands, Texas; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, September 22, in the Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, September 21 in the Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church and continue on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in the Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. The Reverend Rick Watson will officiate.
